Individual Event of training ESP® prevention and rehabilitation therapist – Training


In ADL, at work, hobbies and sports often leads to knee injuries. In this course, you gain insight into the different types of knee injuries (instability, meniscal, osteochondral lesions, etc.) and study and guidelines for active rehabilitation.
Currently, only every second ACL rupture is treated surgically. The conservative and postoperative rehabilitation places high demands on the entire rehabilitation team. How does the wound healing process, how and what cab I do during rehabilitation? Questions that come up again and again. In this course, you will find the answers to these questions.


The participant can expertly advise by applying the newly learned diagnostic tests and methods of intervention patients and apply a different indications motion therapeutic interventions with the different forms of injury (instability, meniscus, cartilage) in the knee.
In conversation with colleagues and other medical disciplines a professional level can be taken.
After this course, patients and customers can be competent and professional support and advice patients with knee injuries in the diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive process.


Medical Education Area:

The participant knows the specific physiology and functions of the connective tissue capsule, ligaments, meniscus and cartilage. Also known is the anatomy and biomechanics of the knee, and the clinical relevance thereof for diagnosis and treatment.

Physiotherapy Educational Area:

The participant knows the most common knee injuries, as well as the different physiotherapy tests for the different injuries. The guidelines for active rehabilitation in patients with knee problems are known and can be applied clinically. The most important exercises of the lower extremity are known and may be practiced.

Check Your Understanding
Using peer feedback and feedback from the instructor during the practical training and self-regulation of learning objectives based on a case. During the course, a repetition of the learning is performed by means of a short self-reflection regularly.

The course consists of 3.5 hours each day of 60 minutes each theory in the form of input units, followed by 3.5 hours of practical applications in small groups.
The theory is preparing the basis for practical implementation.
In practice various skills and rehabilitation methods are practiced and deepened methods. It will be delivered to the participants various tasks to deepen understanding and control.

Training time

The course takes 2 days. It is expected that the / the participant spends four hours self-study in preparation.
Total learning time: 14 contact hours and 4 self-study hours

Arjen van Dujin: MAS in sports physiotherapy, he taught for ESP, as Fachochschuldozent at the ZHAW in Winterthur and for various vendors at home and abroad. In his own practice, he cared top athletes.

The course builds on the curriculum of colleges for physical therapy. It is expected, therefore, that the knowledge and skills to be mastered on the basis of anatomy, physiology of the knee. Also sports Scientific Basis skills are in the area of mobility, coordination and strength is assumed.
