MYSA’s history starts 20 year ago when Bob Munro, a national nation avdvisor worked for sustainability in Kenia. During one of his visits to the township Mathare he saw a group of local children playing football with a self-made football consisting of plastic bags hold together with some rope. He offered his help as a referee under the condition that the children would help him to clean the football field. To his own surprise the kids were collaborating eagerly.
Inspired by this experience , Bob Munro initiated an organization which relates a football competition with cleaning the slums. The idea was very simple – teams got extra points for helping clean up of the slumps which gave an incentive to participate in MYSA.
